Last week, our CEO Michael Vigeant had a great time playing in the 10th Annual CT River Valley Golf Classic Tournament! It's always a pleasure to join such a fantastic group for a day on the course. The weather was perfect, the entertainment was top-notch, and a good time was had by all. We're already looking forward to next year! Not pictured are Christopher Biggs and Kevin Battista, who were far too busy taking their heckle hole duties very seriously. ... See MoreSee Less

GreatBlue was proud to have our CEO, Michael Vigeant, invited to present at the 61st Annual Meeting hosted by Missouri River Energy Services (MRES).
Michael’s presentation, “Connecting with the Public Power Customer of the Future,” focused on the next generation of utility customers, adults ages 18–34, and the evolving expectations shaping the future of public power.
Drawing from insights gathered through MRES’s recent 2025–2026 customer research study and examined against broader national trends, the session explored what younger customers expect from their utilities, how utilities can better address growing demands around affordability, transparency, digital convenience, and innovation, and the communication strategies most effective in building engagement and trust with this generation.
One of the most compelling findings from the research: while the 18–34 age segment was the most supportive of the public power model nationally, they were also among the most difficult to satisfy when it came to innovation and awareness of utility programs and services, highlighting both a significant opportunity and challenge for the industry.
This year’s MRES Annual Meeting theme, “Connected by Purpose,” aligned closely with Michael’s presentation and the importance of strengthening relationships with the next generation of public power customers. As utilities continue to navigate industry transformation, understanding evolving customer expectations will be essential to fulfilling MRES’s mission of delivering reliable, cost-effective, community-focused energy services in a fiscally responsible and environmentally sensitive manner.
As Michael shared during the presentation: “The future of public power depends on more than reliability alone, it depends on connection, trust, and relevance with the next generation of customers. Research gives utilities the ability to move beyond assumptions, better understand evolving expectations, and build stronger long-term relationships with the communities they serve.”
GreatBlue is incredibly proud to serve as MRES’s longstanding research partner, and we are grateful for the opportunity to continue supporting their members with meaningful, data-driven insights that help strengthen the future of public power.

It all comes down to this: we have reached the March Laughness Championship matchup. To the bemusement of our CEO, we have a battle of the golf comedy staples. Caddyshack walked so that Happy Gilmore could run (up to the ball and smash it down the fairway). Now there can only be one winner. You decide which of these movies gets their one shining moment. Will it be the O.G. (Original Golf) comedy or the hockey-player-turned-golfer underdog story? You decide who gets to be the inaugural March Laughness Comedy Movie Champion! Voting ends Monday night and the winner will be announced Tuesday!

The round of 64 is officially in the books… and the Comedy Movie March LAUGHNESS bracket is already delivering chaos. Thirty-two movies are gone. Just like that. And the upsets?Absolutely brutal. Here’s a short list of some:
Airplane
We’re the Millers
Beerfest
Tropic Thunder
All eliminated.
Now the Round of 32 begins, and the matchups are getting intense. Just look at Region One: Austin Powers vs. Caddyshack. Two legendary comedies. One survives.
The road to the Sweet 16 starts now. The choices are harder. The laughs are bigger. And the stakes? Very, very serious.

March LAUGHNESS is here!
Few things bring people together like a great comedy. These are the movies that made us laugh until we cried, watching with friends on a Friday night, quoting lines with family, sitting awkwardly but happily on a first date, or staying up way too late at sleepovers with our best friends. Comedy movies have a way of bringing back memories, sparking nostalgia, and reminding us that laughing together is one of the best things we share.
That spirit is what inspired GreatBlue Research’s first-ever Comedy Movie March LAUGHNESS Bracket. We started with 64 comedies competing head-to-head to determine which film ultimately deserves the title of comedy champion.
The tournament is already underway and the Round of 16 is beginning to take shape (the latest results we’ve included here), but there is still time to weigh in before polls close Monday, March 16. The link is included below!

We’ll be sharing tournament results right here on social media every Monday, Wednesday and Friday through April 8, so follow along as the bracket unfolds and see which comedies advance, which ones fall, and which film earns the last laugh.
Who will get the last laugh?

GreatBlue’s Second Annual Super Bowl Super Poll is officially in the books and it did not disappoint!
We looked at favorite teams from every angle, including what team people are rooting for, the type of Super Bowl party guest they tend to be, and whether they believe the day after the Super Bowl should be a national holiday. And yes, surprise, we had a lot of Patriots fans and they all picked their team to win (and almost 38% of them chose the wrong answer and said we should work the next day). Check out the GreatBlue Research LinkedIn page to see what other fans thought!
We also confirmed that no one truly knows what a catch in the NFL is, covered a clear winner in a Taylor Swift versus Travis Kelce debate, and gained perspective on some interesting views on sports gambling along the way.
To wrap things up and celebrate the upcoming 250th Anniversary of the United States, we went back to 1776 to ask the important questions. Which Founding Father would make the best NFL player? What would a Founding Father Super Bowl Party look like? And what would a 1776 halftime show be?
We had a lot of fun creating this poll and hope everyone enjoyed taking it as much as we enjoyed putting it together and diving into the data!
